Frankincense has natural astringent properties and balances oil production while tightening the skin. Our ointment is a traditional product with many skin and hair care uses.

Description

The ancient Egyptians mixed their fragrances with oils and butters to provide a luxurious ointment balm for skin and hair ravaged by the dry weather of Egypt. The blend of Frankincense fragrance oil with other oils and butters provides moisturizing, age-defying, and skin-repairing properties.

Frankincense benefits include improving skin elasticity, tone, and strength against bacteria and blemishes, as well as inflammation relieving and tissue remodeling components.

Boswellia serrata is the botanical name given to the tree that produces the resin known to the ancient Egyptians as Sanatjar. It was first imported from Syria and Punt, with Pharaohs Hatshepsut, Tuthmose III, Amenhotep II, and Rameses III attempting to grow trees for domestic supply. Sanatjar was utilized in cosmetics, medicine, and ritual censing. Burned as incense in purification rituals, it was also the first burned in the morning temple rites.

Directions: Apply as an aftershave, lip balm, or wrinkle treatment. Frankincense Ointment also works well as a beard balm and hair moisturizer.

Ingredients:  Frankincense Resin, Castor Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Palm Butter, Shea Butter, Beeswax

This ointment is a life saver for eczema! I use it on my lower legs every day to keep away eczema. Also, when I feel an itch like it’s starting to act up, I put it on and the outbreak never comes. I also use it after a full day in the sun on my face…it feels so soothing. My husband uses it after shaving! Cannot say enough good things!

A bit of warning: This is not going to be heavily scented. Even when I heated it and added a few drops of frankincense essential oil, it wasn’t heavily scented. That’s the nature of this ointment and Frankincense. You don’t use this for the scent as much as for the moisturizer and the beneficial properties of frankincense. It does mean when you use it in effective amounts, you won’t smell like an exploded perfume factory. It just smells clean. And this ointment is so effective! My under-eyes are much less crepey, and it is SO soothing to the skin! Great for wrinkles, post-dermaplaning and on irritated spots!
