Ancient Egyptian green eye paint made with traditional fats and oils

Description

The ancient Egyptians used green eye paint from greenstone or malachite, which they ground and mixed with beef tallow, beeswax, and oils. Satjya Natjaru has formulated a traditional eye paint blend from cosmetic grade malachite green mica mineral with zinc oxide to protect from the sun’s damaging rays.

Our 1 oz and 2oz wa’adjw include a traditional application stick.

Directions: Apply to the eyelids with an applicator or brush

Ingredients: beeswax, beef tallow, distilled water, zinc oxide, xanthan gum, malachite green iron oxide, jojoba oil

It’s a decent eyegloss, but I think this formulation would work much more nicely with a cosmetics-grade ocher as a rouge for lips and cheeks.
